I mean only democratic presidents have been the ones to create entitlement programs. I wonder if this health care bill will be another one.

The Healthcare bill IS an entitlement program.

  • Doug:

Yeah, it will go that direction.

Yep and 10 to 1 – I will never be eligible

If you pay into it, you’re sure as hell are entitled to it!
You make it sound like it’s charity.

  • msnbcsucks:

You pay for Social Security and Medicare out of your paycheck. And after 20 or 30 years of working if you happen to need what you paid for you are told no and it takes years to take it to court if you live long enough.

  • Hi:

It’s taking out of s.s. so i doubt it.

  • Athman:

You bet your sweet azz it’s a new entitlement. The recepients are the one’s who benefit from expanded healthcare. They don’t contribute to the system and take whatever they need. And the best part is……we taxpayers flip the bill!

The same as you are entitled to get the money out of a savings account you paid into for 45 years.

  • meg:

No. The entitlements are promised future benefits paid for by current taxes, this bill is paid for and benefit paid year by year. If congress and the president want to, they could repeal this bill at some future date, but they can not repeal medicare and social security without betraying the people who have been paying into the system most of their lives
