Because Republicans have been very successful in scaring the living crap out of people…

They, the people, have no idea what they want anymore.

  • My Business Plan:

What do you mean by “real things”? Tell me of all the “real things” that Congressional democrats are NOT lying about.

  • oohhbother:

Our Press is falling down on their job to inform the public.

All they have reported is the partisan arguing over the bill – not the bill and it’s reconciliation amendments at all.

  • TheAnswerMan:

Most people don’t want to be forced to buy health insurance.

  • Patrick G:

    Please….

Tell me what exactly is in the bill.

You don’t know. You haven’t read it. Mr Obama hasn’t read it. He admitted as much.

The people voting on it haven’t read it. They are passing it because Obama, Pelosi and Reid want it passed.

Please,,,, tell me what exactly the bill as written will provide.

  • ideogenetic:

That’s how effective lobbyists are in a country where the People don’t discource or think beyond demagogic soundbites.

  • Yoda Cookie Monster:

you see, when someone vomits in your mouth, you vomit that out and vomit some more yourself. That’s how these lies are being spread, the creeps you mentioned feed these lies to their brainless conservative followers. Then, these followers mindlessly repeat these lies, not knowing they are lying. You see? These tiny little propaganda lies grow HUGE, and make people think a good thing is bad.

  • ME:

The overall package will bankrupt our system, among other things.

but that doesn’t bother you, right?

  • Bobbi:

What real things? Reducing payments for Medicare? i heard that from Obama himself. Gee. That will save us money, at the expense of someone providing a service they should be justly paid for. Yet, what I DO NOT see are recommendations from hospitals like the Mayo Clinic. Mayo had all of their recommendations for successfully reducing cost of care tossed out of the bill. Let’s see. Obama and Dems solution —– pay less. Mayo clinic solution —– pay for procedure, not per item billing. this has worked at Mayo, with better patient outcomes. but no, doesn’t mesh with the golden pipe dream of liberals —-the steps toward universal health care in the USA.

  • Vicsi.....:

Lied? What have they lied about? Abortion is a biggy. Did they lie about that? Give some more examples, hmm?

  • Paul Grass™:

Over 74% of American people will welcome National Healthcare Bill. Only lying and evil Republicans along with useful idiots are against it.

  • Mike:

Because they don’t want the “death panels”, be forced to get their health care from the government, and don’t want the government turned into a marxist/fascist regime.

  • brown9500v16:

They are still being fed the government takeover-death panel crap, and are to dumb to wise up.

The problem for the Republicans, however, is that once the bill is passed, there will be no way to keep up the lies in the face of obvious fact.

When you embarrass somebody… you REALLY piss them off.

  • Coop 366:

When you break it down and ask about the parts, yes they are for each idea but they are against the bill.

  • Hatir Ba Loon:

Think of it as being in a car dealership.

Dealer – Do you want brakes?
    Purchaser – Yes.

    Dealer – Steering wheel?
    Purchaser – Yes.

    Dealer – Engine? Frame? Suspension?
Purchaser – Yes, they all sound good.

    Dealer – Seats?
    Purchaser – Yes.

Dealer – Fine, we have a $ 250,000 Greyhound bus over here that has all that!
    Purchaser – No way!

Dealer – I don’t understand. You like all the parts of the bill, but you don’t like the bill itself, you must have been brainwashed by Faux news!

Because it is all in the way that the question is asked and by whom. Many of the pieces that the right has championed are in the legislation but because it doesn’t contain every bit they will reject it all and then have the nerve to say it is the will of the people that they are supporting. The plain truth is that they have continually lied about this and for well over a year now that it is hard to know what they would support.

My friend. Do some research instead of calling people liars. MA has a statewide pilot health insurance program for the past four years. 8 hospitals going bankrupt. They have the highest health insurance premiums in the country. The premiums are mandated. Due to the significant number of Medicaid patients, the state could not continue to provide its normal services if the feds didn’t decide to give them more money. This is according to the current treasurer of the state of MA. One person from MA posted on YA a while back and said he didn’t know what he was going to do because he couldn’t afford the $ 1300 per month premium.

The congressman from WI asked the CBO what the results would be if everything was included in the figures. It would result in over a $ 400 billion deficit if they included the Dr. Fix, the cost of the 16 thousand new IRS employees, and the double counting of the Medicare cuts. This is from the CBO. Look something up instead of attacking. You might learn something.

What are these “things” you speak of? What’s your source? A link?? I take it you’ve read all 2400 pages???

The ideologies of Marxism/ socialism/ communism have infected our American culture. Because Americans who lived in eras where these ugly ideologies wreaked havoc on the world were critical of them, proponents began to call themselves something more appealing- “progressives”. In socialism, a central government controls the production of goods services for equal distribution to all members. Communists typically employ this by more militant means. Progressives more cunningly achieve this by entitlement programs, law, regulation burdensome taxation.

Despite their hopeful sounding name, progressives utilize the constant mantra of “change” are generally intolerable of anything traditional that provides social structure, including concrete morals, religious teachings original meanings of the U.S. Constitution, hence the moral digression. They have a tendency to confuse earned privileges with entitlements then accuse the opposition of withholding so-called “rights”. They popularized “political correctness” redefined “tolerance” “diversity”. They frown upon “old ways of thinking” (President Obama’s own words). Interestingly, the majority of today’s Democratic politicians are members of socialist “progressive” caucuses.

One can examine our culture today see evidence of such Marxist ills: The current health care bill makes federal funding for abortion accessible to lower class women who, with their children, would be considered a drain on the system amounts to eugenics (selective human breeding); Aversion to all things religious, i.e. controversies over 10 Commandment monuments, traditional marriage, etc.; Government control of businesses, like with bailouts, carbon taxes health care business takeovers; Totalitarian rule similar to how the current Administration Majority members are behaving, i.e. the unprofessional tongue lashing the President gave Republicans Supreme Court Justices in the State of the Union Address. Other things are more subtle like indoctrination through educational systems, media other propaganda. These have all been practiced by despotic regimes of the past that America considered her enemies detested because of their depraved philosophies resultant brutalities.

Consider the failing socialistic entitlement program of Social Security. Their recent publication stated the “Board of Trustees now estimates that based on current law, in 2041, the Trust Funds will be depleted. Because people are living longer and the birth rate is low, the ratio of workers to beneficiaries is falling.” It went on to “reassure” me that it could still “pay about $ 780 for every $ 1,000 in benefits scheduled.” Nice ROI. We’ve tried socialism its not financially sustainable, proving once again the government can do a worse job managing investing your money than you can. Do you really want an amoral, money-hungry government in your health care business? Our government is way out of its functional jurisdiction of providing order national security.

Moral issues notwithstanding, giving control of various things to the government equals giving up personal freedom. Many fought to obtain our freedoms for us. We must fight to maintain our freedom or we will have to fight harder to get it back. Progressives, keep your change. I’ll keep my freedom. Encourage your representatives today to vote down costly Obamacare any big government legislation.

  • Max50:

For the tax breaks for NE and no one else?

Tax break for LA and the earthquake victims for Hawaii those are Obama’s words not Fox and company.

Also to have everyone’s taxes to being increase and than have to wait 4 years to get any benefit for it.

Obama promise to take out the pork but didn’t.

Save the rants about Fox etc. Just because the rest of the networks don’t dare to question the bill doesn’t make them right.

  • ruth:

Nonsense. I am not for the federal government having more power than it does now. Not for more pork, and this bill is full of it. Not for the federal government being the sole student loan provider.

  • Jerry O:

Are you aware that the CBO announced yesterday the IRS will require $ 10 billion over the next decade to employ 17,000 new agents and personnel to meet it’s responsibility to enforce collections in penalties and fines for those who do not acquire mandatory insurance. The fine will be treated as a tax collection or deducted from tax overpayment refund. This is an example of government expansion and associated costs, and a mandate that has many repercussions, including potential States Rights violations.

  • John:

The senators and representatives in Congress who are taking money and perks from lobbyists
fronting for insurance and pharmaceutical companies are spreading lies to a public that does not
    read or ask serious questions.
As long as people refuse to take responsibility, we will continue to be SCREWED by politicians.
