Because it would do things like tell them what tests and treatments they can prescribe and force them to see more people for less money. In other words they would be taking orders from some govt agency instead of making their own decisions.
Currently at the hospital i work at. ER physicians get around 25 bucks for medicaid/ medicare pt. Radiologist usually get anywhere from 10-50 bucks depending on what type images they’re reading. That’s alot of liability to take for such small returns. Like the user above me said there would be to much government control.

Doctors are people too. They don’t like fundamental changes, unless they are demonstrably to their benefit, any more than the rest of us do.
Because it limits them in the procedures they can do. Imagine having breast cancer and a doctor wanting to help you but cant. Rationed medicine. Now imagine government coming into your home and deciding for you whether or not a terminally ill family member should live or die. They decide that. Not you

I have never met a practicing Physician who opposes “Obamacare”
There are a lot of reasons. Some dislike it because they would be required to see more patients for less money, therefore not making quite as much money as they do now, others dislike it because it actually also puts a lot more government control on what they can do. Basically a lot more money goes to the insurance companies and the hospitals and a lot less to the actual doctors.
As a doctor I do understand this….
1. Government healthcare pays less than private healthcare
2. The government gives guidlines for what doctors can prescribe – meaning that it pressures doctors into using tests (MRI X-ray) less. Basically, with little to no govenment intervention, we can run MRI’s on everything that could be wrong, but the government tries to cut down on the amount of these run.
3. The government requires different wording in paperwork than usual medical terminology, and more paperwork in general.
The operative word in your question is some. There are also some doctors who favor The Affordable Healthcare Act. The answerers who say that doctors will be told what care to give, be regulated by a government agency, rationed medicine or “death panels” are spreading misinformation. The Affordable Healthcare Act is insurance reform not health care reform. People should be ashamed of repeating these lies.

They Stereotype and assume your Lifestyle and Personality and decide weather they will treat you or not after you keep going through over a year of test and aptitude test to see if you will be allowed into there Elite Club of being able to be a recipient for a Transplant and sometimes they make you wait and suffer till the end of your days until the all at once slam things back into you to get you going again….
but it is xtra rough when you were wasted away till almost your last few days when it did not have to be that way~!
AND, One main Doctor has control over weather you live or die even though many other doctors are giving you over 100% for you to hang in there while that main Doctor tells you. “you aint got a chance. why are you even Here”…..!
