Why are Republicans afraid to show their healthcare bill on national TV? Do they even have one?

- Medicare Tax? Health Care for the Elderly? Let’s look at the facts about the proposed Medicare Tax … and a medical care program for the aged that already exists! What’s the hurry here? The supporters of the proposed Medicare Tax would have you believe that passage of this controversial bill is urgent … that persons over 5 are deprived of needed medical care because they can’t pay for it. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Kerr-Mills Law, passed by Congress in 1960 – enabled individual states to guarantee to every elderly person who needs help the health care he or she requires. We call this health program … Health Opportunity for the Elderly. Thousands of people every day are being helped by its generous benefits. And unlike Medicare, which would substantially increase your Social Security Tax payroll deductions, existing programs are being paid for now by a part of your present tax dollar! Medicare? NO. Health Care for the Elderly? YES! ….. 1964 American Medical Association Ad, A5157.

They dont need one. Liberals are the only ones griping about having to pay for their own
It doesn’t really work that way. The Republicans would have no reason to write a bill with both houses being controlled by Democrats. It would have no chance of being passed, so it doesn’t need to be written. They should offer more suggestions though.
This is not a safe road for Lib/Dems to be on.
How many closed door conferences? How many behind the scenes deals? How many live debates were we promised on CSPAN? (Promised by Barry himself on no less than 8 separate occasions, btw)
And hey, as the Dems and especially Pelosi are SO quick to remind us, THEY are in charge and WILL get things done. Do they suddenly need Republican help?
Glass houses, little Lib, glass houses…
Most Republicans and like minded Conservatives don’t want to have Health Care Reform
they are happy with their current coverage
why change?
just to give the government another failure?
Notice that no one here seems to answer this question. I have to think it’s because reps know deep down that their party really doesn’t have any ideas to think of and are just content to shout down Obama’s or any other democrats proposals. I’m sorry but even so called fact check sites that claim republicans have proposals they still sound pretty much the same as they’ve always been. I want to see Obama do this one right though and could care less about how long this takes. I don’t want a plan that just hands money out to the private insurers. We need something that works.
Because it would be fucking borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring.
First you are accusing the republicans of not showing their healthcare bill and then turn around and ask if we have one?! Oh brother.
THEY HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THEIR IDEAS FOR HEALTH CARE ALL THE TIME, THE LIBERALS JUST DON’T WANT TO LISTEN TO THEM
Because we don’t need to. The Democratic Bill is so dumb that I am surprised they wanted to show it. the Democratic Bill will help only a margin of the few numbers of people that need it. If you don’t believe me read some statistics. I am not in a cave, because I work for my money. Your the one in a cave and you need to educate yourself on the bills you so blindly support.
Media won’t let them.
hahahahaha We don’t believe in government controlled health care . We want REFORM..not government controlled FORCED insurance.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., proposed capping the tax exclusion for health benefits. By capping the allowed deduction of health care costs at $565 per month for an individual and $1,440 for a family, the government would save $452 billion over 10 years.
NOt government controlled and far better than the 13,000 PER PERSON that YOUR party wants and these…

Health care will be rationed. Only 5,000 PER INDIVIDUAL A YEAR and 10,000 per family

WHY DO YOU NOT LISTEN TO YOUR OWN PARTY!
FLEMING HEALTH CARE REFORM UPDATE
Update on H.Res 615: Call on Members of Congress to Enroll in the Public Option
Because you have previously contacted my office by email in support of H. Res. 615, my resolution calling on Members of Congress to enroll in the public option, I wanted to give you an update.
Like many of you, I am deeply concerned that Congress will press forward to enact an intrusive government administered health care plan, despite the higher costs and lowered level of care other countries with similar systems have experienced.
You will be pleased to know that more than 100 Members of Congress joined in support of H. Res. 615, my common sense measure calling on Members who vote for an intrusive government-administered health care plan to enroll in that system. Since launching this effort, nearly 3 million Americans like you have contacted my office in support of H. Res. 615. In response I offered an amendment to the Democratic Leadership health care bill to automatically enroll all Members of Congress and all Senators in the public option. Predictably, my amendment was rejected out of hand by the Majority and was not given a vote on the floor of the House of Representatives.
Common sense seems to have failed us in the health care debate. That is why I offered a resolution asking Members of Congress to put their “money where their mouth is” and call for Members who support a public option lead by example and be required to enroll in the public option themselves. If a Member is willing to vote for such an option, why shouldn’t they enroll in it?
THE DOCTOR’S DIAGNOSIS: There is no doubt about it; health care in America must be reformed. The answer, however, is not an intrusive government administered health care plan. As a practicing physician for over 30 years, I am concerned that the kind of “reform” being debated back and forth on Capitol Hill will insert Washington bureaucrats between patients and their doctors, burden the middle class with new taxes, and raise insurance premiums for almost everyone. That is unacceptable “reform.” I will continue to work to represent you and to bring common sense back to this debate.

PROGRESSIVE ALERT…they have not given up. STILL Ignoring jobs and economy….
“I think the greatest risk for Democrats is passing nothing,” said Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va. “There are a lot of things the public may not support in a given moment, but later on, when things have quieted down, they may think of highly.”
THIS Statement alone says it all again. THINKING they know what is best for us instead of letting US decide what is best for us. We will shut up and accept it if they pass it..even if we don’t like it. SURE…that is what helped PUT BROWN in office in the first place. THEY HAVE NOT LISTENED!
THEY LIE and wont’ give up. Pelosi said…we can’t go under the fence, over the fence or through the fence so we will parachute in.
DO NOT LET THEM get one foot in the door..not one toe. THEY CANNOT BE TRUSTED….over 500 days of lies and a year of corruption and deceit…DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM!
WORK ON JOBS SO people can afford their health care!
Well, after not finding weapons of mass destruction, a secret White House meeting between Dick Cheney and the energy companies, and an Iraqi war that was supposed to pay for itself through oil revenues, what kind of a lame-ass bill could they come up with? It’ll probably read something like “open up the treasury and let blue-cross blue-shield and other health care insurance companies help themselves to our taxes!”
Republicans do not want affordable tax payer funded health care FULL STOP.
Republicans have to look after their rich mates in the pharmaceutical, health insurance sector so they won’t be supporting this anytime soon, hence no policy/bill.
They don’t have a bill. All they have is amendment to a bill, H.R. 3962.
Wait………What?????? Why were democrats going behind locked doors by themselves and wouldn’t let republicans in? I say leave health care alone it’s fine the way it is lets get people back to work that is much more important.
They have the same one they have had since Hillary care back in the Clinton presidency..First,,,Don’t get Sick !!! Second,,If you do,,die quickly !! And thirdly,,If you don’t die quickly,,and don’t have health care insurance,,don’t expect anyone to pay your bill !! Seriously,,Don’t you think that IF the Republicans were really serious about health care reform,,they would have come up with SOMETHING in the seventeen years since Hillary Care was proposed?? Fact is,,they DON”T WANT REFORM,,and never will.. What you are witnessing during this Obama Health Care Reform Adventure is a OBSTRUCTIVE,,DISTRACTING ,,example of Republican ”SHUCK and JIVE”!! Instituted to delay and destroy any reform until they think they can regain power in Govt. and then end reform for another ten years..Remember,,Health Care Ins. Co’s have spent 542 million dollars to defeat this reform being offered..THEY know it will END the denying claims and refusing claims plus denying coverage for preexisting conditions or whatever” trumped up reasons” they can !! LION HOUSE
Because it will allow the Health Insurance companies to quadruple their rates the year it takes effect.
They aren’t. Democraps like yourself are scared to show the bills Republicans offer because democrats will be wiped out in the 2010 elections.
Attached is a link to the GOP health care plan. If you will take the time to read it you will find out why they are embarassed to have it televised.
The plan does cost very little but that is becasue it does to little to rein in health care cost.
You will not see a side by side comparison of how many of the uninsured it will cover because it will only cover about 5% of the uninsured.
The plan was concocted so that they would be able to proclaim that they have a plan. It does not pass the smell test.
