AttorneyOne.com, a recognized authority on law, updated the website recently and they are now actively providing expert opinion in view of the recent news on Yasmin lawsuits and Yasmin Class Action lawsuits.
On May 14, the US Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (MDL) informed that there are 9,961 actions pending in the Yasmin/Yaz MDL (No 2100, US District Court, Southern District of Illinois). Yasmin, which was approved by the FDA in 2001, and its sister drug Yaz, which was approved in 2006, are oral contraceptives that combine estrogen and a fourth generation progestin, drospirenone, to prevent pregnancy. Yasmin and Yaz are manufactured by Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals.
Thomson Reuters published on March 20, that Bayer agreed to settle lawsuits alleging gallbladder injuries from Yasmin and Yaz. According to Thomson Reuters Bayer will pay $ 2,000 to plaintiffs who suffered gallbladder injuries and $ 3,000 to individuals who had their gallbladders removed, according to the agreement.
Taking into consideration the latest developments, AttorneyOne.com updated the website and, now, can actively provide an expert opinion including how to get in contact with legal counsel easily and inexpensively in case of alleged Yasmin and Yaz severe complications. Sean Burke, director of Media Relations at AttorneyOne.com, adds that the relevant information illustrates that people continue to file Yasmin and Yaz lawsuits. “For that reason”, he continues, “our focus should squarely fall on getting the word out and assisting people in finding the right legal assistance.
On December 11, 2012, five plaintiffs filed a lawsuit in Illinois Southern District Court (case no. 3:2012cv11630) alleging they suffered serious medical issues from their use of Yasmin and Yaz. In the lawsuit, the estate of a woman alleges she died after having a stroke having taken Yasmin or Yaz for slightly over a month. Another plaintiff claims she developed severe complications with her gallbladder from her use of the drugs that required its removal. The other three plaintiffs claim they suffer from Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), blood clots and heart blockage caused by Yasmin and Yaz.
AttorneyOne.com has further information on Yasmin and Yaz lawsuits including how to get in contact with legal counsel.

Question by Smart Guy: Does healthcare law penalize employers for hiring by imposing federal mandate to provide healthcare coverage?
Would unemployment be much lower if we enacted the healthcare plan put for by John McCain in 2008 that would’ve freed businesses up to hire as many people as they want and allowing individuals buy their own healthcare with the same tax break that had previously be given their employer for giving it to them?
Wouldn’t we be enjoying a real economic recovery if we simplified healthcare and allowed people to buy it and businesses to simply hire with no more of a committment other than unemployment insurance?
Answer by NO SPIN, JUST TRUTH!!
yes we would, Obama Care was the MOST dangerous piece of Legislation ever to be presented

ActSeed has teamed up with GoHealth Insurance to help 15 million self-employed individuals in the US find affordable health insurance for themselves and their immediate families. Now, an individual can complete a simple web form, receive a preliminary quote instantly and start the process of acquiring insurance within all of the 50 US states.
“At ActSeed, we constantly hear from self-employed entrepreneurs who seek affordable health insurance, but don’t know where to turn,” said Bill Attinger, CEO of ActSeed. “Instead of wasting valuable hours trying to research options through Google, we want to direct our community members to GoHealth, where sole-proprietors can quickly find the best and most appropriate health insurance plan for themselves and for their immediate families. The sooner we can help a solopreneur secure affordable insurance, the sooner they can get back to serving their customers and growing their business, so everyone wins.”
According to the US Department of Labor in June 2012, approximately 1 out of every 9 people in the labor force is self employed. Furthermore, according to a 2011 survey by the National Association for the Self-Employed, more than 12% of these “solopreneurs” do not currently have health insurance.
Sole proprietorships and one-person companies depend heavily upon a single individual to maintain operations. A significant health issue can derail a one-person company and quickly bankrupt the proprietor with health care bills and loss of revenue.
“With our service, we make it easy to shop, compare and purchase health insurance for individuals, families and entrepreneurs alike,” said Mark Colwell, Manager of Consumer Marketing at GoHealth. “The CEO and President of GoHealth actually founded the company because it was so confusing to compare their coverage options as young entrepreneurs. They knew they could utilize technology to help make the tedious task of purchasing coverage much simpler. Now after more than 10 years in the industry, we’ve helped nearly 30 million people shop and purchase health insurance.”

Atlantic Information Services, Inc., publisher of Health Plan Week, is pleased to announce its February 14 webinar, How Defined-Contribution Benefit Design Can Help Insurers, Employers and Enrollees. See webinar details at http://aishealth.com/marketplace/c2m06_021412.
In recent years, defined-contribution plans have become a popular option to traditional defined-benefit plans. The model provides for a more predictable health care spend, while allowing enrollees to take greater control over their health care dollars and choose a plan that more closely meets their individual needs. In todays competitive environment, defined-contribution strategies are increasingly being developed by insurers to help them retain clients. As premium costs continue to rise and private exchanges grow, defined-contribution plans may be instrumental in persuading many employers to retain health coverage for their employees.
Within days of each other in November, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City and Highmark began promoting their private exchange models, through which they will offer defined-contribution plans to small businesses. While the K.C. Blues plan has offered defined-contribution options since 2009, Highmark launched its exchange as a pilot this month with 20 small-employer clients. In the face of growing demand, many insurers are adding more defined-contribution options, which range from high-premium offerings with limited out-of-pocket costs to less costly high-deductible options.
On February 14, Ron Rowe, from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, Alan Cohen, from Liazon Corporation, and Christopher Condeluci, from Venable LLP, will discuss why defined-contribution plans are garnering so much interest, the advantages they hold for employers and health plans, and why they may eventually become the dominant plan type.
During the 60-minute presentation and 30 minutes of Q&A, participants will get insider perspectives on key questions such as:
What outcomes have health plans experienced since implementing defined-contribution plans?
How could a growing demand for defined-contribution options create a new level of competition among insurers?
How can companies best implement defined-contribution plans?
What pitfalls do employers need to avoid with regard to tax treatment, nondiscrimination rules, HIPAA and other legal issues related to defined-contribution plans?
Why are some employers that dont offer coverage now clamoring for a defined-contribution strategy?
Why wont some employers want to use a defined-contribution approach for all of their employees?
How, and to what extent, is defined-contribution expected to be integrated into the development of private exchanges?
What do brokers and agents need to know before promoting the model to clients?
Why will some employees embrace skinnier benefits and limited provider access in favor of lower costs at the providers they use the most?
