Our dogs were getting on in age so 2 years ago I decided I would “Cook” for our dogs. I got the idea from a family member who was doing this for her older dog & cat. Save a dog or cat and adopt. They will be your best friends for as long as you are together. Our last two dogs have been by adoption. The first adoptions was a Tenn Walker Hound Dog & then back in Feb. A Beagle. The Tenn Walker was about 4-5 years old & that was over 4 years ago. No one would adopt him because he has problems with his back legs. They give out when he is running & he is a big boy. He is 85lbs & stands some 38 inches tall. Then we added the 3rd member to our family a 2 years old Beagle last Feb. He is a pure ball of energy & his energy should be bottled if it were possible. Beware of PETA: **** This is a horrible org. & they kill (put down), destroy more animals than any legitimate kennel in America. Check it out yourself: Google: Peta kills animals. (PETA) killed a staggering 95.9 percent of the adoptable pets in its care during 2011. Despite years of public outrage over its euthanasia program, the notorious animal rights group has continued killing adoptable animals at its Norfolk, VA headquarters, at an average of 37 pets every week. According to records from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, PETA killed 1911 cats and dogs last year while placing just 24 in adoptive homes. Since 1998, a total of 27751 pets have died at the hands of PETA workers. PETA workers have

Protect Your Bubble (http://us.protectyourbubble.com/), the UKs leading specialty insurance brand, has launched in the US market, offering pet insurance policies for dogs and cats with a variety of affordable options. Plans provide up to 90 percent reimbursement on covered vet bills for eligible accidents, illnesses, and hereditary conditions. Routine wellness coverage is also available to help consumers get reimbursed on routine vet treatments. Consumers can go to any vet in the country, and may be eligible to receive a 10 percent multi-pet discount.

According to the 2011-2012 APPA National Pet Owners Survey, 62 percent of U.S. households own a pet, which equates to 72.9 million homes. Pets have moved from the backyard to the family room because most American pet owners see their pet as a member of the family. In fact, according to a 2011 survey published in PsychologyToday.com, 81 percent of those surveyed consider their dogs to be true family members, equal in status to children. A 2009 Forbes.com article speculates that this increased focus on pets could be a result of many variables including, couples abstaining from having children until later in life, our real-life relationships have been exchanged for the over saturation of social media consumption, or the fact that our stressful lives warrant a furry, unconditionally loving four-legged friend to greet us when we come home.

Whatever the reason, one thing is for sure: Consumers insure their loved ones with health insurance; now its time to insure pets, too. Owners who wouldnt consider not treating their pet to needed care due to their financial situation may find Protect Your Bubble USA (http://us.protectyourbubble.com/) to be an affordable option for their pets healthcare.

E-Training for Dogs, Inc. has just released a Certification course designed for canine professionals, veterinarians, veterinary technicians or assistants or others, to enhance their client services with Canine Massage Therapy. The course, Canine Massage Certification consists of three classes and one practicum (hands-on massage internship). This is a rigorous and comprehensive Certification with over 50 hours in-class time and over 150 hours home study.

Though equine massage is a common practice in the horse-racing industry, canine massage is starting to make its way into the lives of household pets, sporting or working dogs, and as part of treatment regimens prescribed by Veterinarians for injured or diseased dogs.

Physical rehabilitation is a valuable and often underutilized part of the overall management of canines with diseases such as osteoarthritis or injuries such as anterior cruciate ligament tears. A team effort is vital to determine and carry out an appropriate therapeutic regimen. There are several modes of physical rehabilitation, outside of surgery or medication, such as chiropractics, acupuncture, or massage, which can help canines achieve a better quality of life after diagnosis of a debilitating disease or injury. Of these, massage remains one of the historically least utilized, and the fastest growing alternative therapies employed by Veterinarians today.

An outstanding article on the pros and cons of canine massage therapy can be found at OldDogPaws.com. The article stresses the importance of qualified canine massotherapists and documentation of results when massage is used as part of a treatment modality. In many states, bills have been passed that would allow animal massage therapists to gain formal state recognition. Often, the bill will require specific hours of combined training and experience before licensing.

To achieve the Canine Massage Therapy Certification at e-trainingfordogs.com, a student must have high class attendance, complete documented massages, and successfully pass comprehensive exams. All classes and timed exams are taken from the student’s home computer using Webinar technology. They include Canine Anatomy and Physiology, Introductory Massage, Advanced Massage, and Canine Case Study Submissions (40 documented massages).

The instructor, Sigle (Sheila) Skeries of Treetops in Canada, holds an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Educational Psychology with 20 years teaching experience and over 30 years experience in the animal industry. Her qualifications in therapeutic massage have been secured through training at The Complementary Therapies School in Gerrards Cross, England and successful completion of the ITEC licensing examinations. She is a member of the British Complementary Medicine Association, Independent Professional Therapists International and the Guild of Complementary Practitioners. Since 1995, Treetops has focused solely on equine and canine rehabilitation while also providing exceptional educational programs in the field of complementary therapies. Treetops was the first facility in North America to provide a fully integrated rehabilitation facility providing the very best in complementary therapies and allopathic veterinary medicine in order to provide a holistic approach to animal health promotion and convalescent care. Treetops continues to be the standard by which all other animal rehabilitation facilities and educational programs aspire. In fact many of today’s animal rehabilitation specialists took their training and began their careers at Treetops.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! thehill.com The seven Blue Dogs on the Energy and Commerce Committee stormed out of a Friday meeting with their committee chairman, Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), saying Waxman had been negotiating in bad faith over a number of provisions Blue Dogs demanded be changed in the stalled healthcare bill. Ive been lied to, Blue Dog Coalition Co-Chairman Charlie Melancon (D-La.) said on Friday. We have not had legitimate negotiations If the two sides cannot reach an agreement, the only hope for passage of the bill in the House will be to go straight to the floor, an option leaders shied away from endorsing but said was an option. But the Blue Dogs issued dire warnings to leaders contemplating that approach. Waxman simply does not have votes in committee and process should not be bypassed to bring the bill straight to floor, Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.), the lead Blue Dog negotiator, said on Friday. We are trying to save this bill and trying to save this party.
