Results posted from the longest-running study on the affects of Aspartame reveal stunning negative results of the artificial sweetener, giving new life to the health community’s efforts to cut Aspartame from diets.

The results, which were published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, come with bad news for potential dieters who were using Aspartame-based sodas to enjoy their favorite flavors while cutting out the calories. The study carries heavy weight compared to smaller studies thanks to its sheer size, an estimated 2,278,396 people-years worth of participant data has been gathered placing this study at the forefront of the Aspartame examination studies.

Vascular Health Sciences Medical Advisor Dr. Derrick DeSilva, M.D. acknowledged the significance of the new study, noting that he has long warned his patients about the danger of Aspartame.

“I have urged those under my care to stay away from Aspartame, said Dr. DeSilva. Ive instead pointed to healthier alternatives to diet soda, or better yet giving up on soda altogether, in order to protect them from the dangers of the sugar-substitute.”

Dr. DeSilva, M.D. is a practicing Internist and Senior Attending Staff at Raritan Bay Medical Center and is on the teaching faculty at JFK Medical Center in New Jersey.

“The risks are not worth the few benefits of enjoying a can of diet cola compared to excluding cola completely from one’s diet and changing their lifestyle to reflect a new beverage of choice, he continued. I’ll say it again, stay away from Aspartame.”

Aspartame has come under scrutiny for the potential increase of risks for certain negative effects on the human body, and the latest of and largest of studies only offers more condemnation. The consumption of just a single can of diet soda increases the risk of leukemia by 42 percent for both men and women, according to the study. It also raised the risk of multiple myeloma by 102 percent in men and risk of non-Hodgkins lymphoma by 31 percent in men. Its unclear why men are mostly affected, displaying further risk than women. Diet soda was used in the study as it is where most Americans consume Aspartame, totaling 86 percent of the 5,250 tons consumed annually.

Animal trials have started for testing exposure at the fetal stage, and early results have shown similar results, in addition to increased breast cancer development in female rats.

It is illegal in all states to drive with your handicap tag hanging from the rearview mirror, but it is not easy to hang and remove the placard as required by law. Mirortag is designed to protect and preserve your tag. It allows you to easily display and put away your handicap parking placard. Simply insert your tag into the plastic holder, place the hook on rearview mirror once. When parked, move plastic holder close to hook and the magnet will snap onto the metal plate of the holder to hold the placard in place. Before your drive, simply pull down the plastic holder to unlatch it from the hook. MirorTag has super strong magnets that keeps the placard and hook held together. Unlike all flimsy sheaths, its sturdy hook is sun & cold-resistant, protecting your placard from cracks, tears and creases. MirorTag is offered in 3 versions, MirorTag Bronze, MirorTag Silver and MirorTag Gold. Both Gold and Silver share the same hook, with the plastic holder is thinner in the Silver and Bronze models (18 mils) vs the Gold that comes with a sturdier plastic (60 mils). Extra hooks and magnets can be purchased separately for multiple cars. WARNING: rearview mirror built-in compass operation may be affected by the magnet. Made in USA.
