- Medicare Tax? Health Care for the Elderly? Let’s look at the facts about the proposed Medicare Tax … and a medical care program for the aged that already exists! What’s the hurry here? The supporters of the proposed Medicare Tax would have you believe that passage of this controversial bill is urgent … that persons over 5 are deprived of needed medical care because they can’t pay for it. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Kerr-Mills Law, passed by Congress in 1960 – enabled individual states to guarantee to every elderly person who needs help the health care he or she requires. We call this health program … Health Opportunity for the Elderly. Thousands of people every day are being helped by its generous benefits. And unlike Medicare, which would substantially increase your Social Security Tax payroll deductions, existing programs are being paid for now by a part of your present tax dollar! Medicare? NO. Health Care for the Elderly? YES! ….. 1964 American Medical Association Ad, A5157.

There’s a saying if your good enough your old enough…Winston Churchill was prime minister of the UK in 1955 and was 81 years old. Ron Paul’s biggest obstacle is the media, not his age.
Don’t forget Ronald Reagan was 78 the final year of his presidency beating out George Washington as the oldest man to run for president. So that’s not totally unrealistic for a man like RP to run for president. I can see he keeps his mind sharp and is a resilient individual when almost year after year he’s just about the only man standing up for the American people. I personally don’t see Obama winning his 2nd term being that Americans are beginning to find out what he’s really about.
Ron Paul seems healthy enough to last at least one term, especially under the shrinking executive power he envisions. A second term is much more questionable and probably necessary for congress to pass a meaningful amount of Ron Paul sponsored legislation.
i haven’t heard him make the point before about so much research being misdirected due to political mandates. I was starting to get nervous that i was the only person in the country that realized that point, but i forgot that Dr. Paul probably figured that out years ago.
Ron Paul is a great man. No BS.
Great Interview!
i so wish ron paul runs for president he is my idol! but unfortunately ur right about the age…. its just going to be sad ill probably cry when he dies but eh dont want to think about that!!! long live liberty!
oh btw rand paul is awesome too and peter schiff!!!
I think Ron Paul would be so great for our Country!
Dr. Paul will be 78 years old by 2012. Running for president is a grueling process and not to mention it is so hard to beat an incumbent president. I think 2008 was Dr. Paul’s last go at the presidency. Don’t get me wrong i wouldn’t want any other person then Ron in that seat. I just hope that we can have his son Rand, Peter Schiff, and Adam Kokesh in congress to keep Ron’s message of liberty alive for years to come.
