The US is #37 as the world’s best healthcare. France is #1. There’ no excuse for the wealthiest country in the world to be lagging so badly in healthcare. Americans can be so stupid and easily manipulate by fear smears but the facts are we need reform.

No surprise that California, one of the richest but most liberal state, especially in fiscal term, is on the edge of bankruptcy. Now Californian socialist model with its highest tax rate, strictest enviromental protection rules, and very generous welfare and healthcare systems is copied by Obama administration with its ambitious, costly health care reform of one trillion dollars for everybody including 12 milliions illegal immigrants who would be naturalized under Obama immigration reform.

we dont need health care reform as much as we need good paying jobs for the people so they can afford health care.lot of people working 3 min wage jobs part time with no health care.we need to quit shipping our jobs to china and start paying the people enough they can live!!!just look at the mess the govt has made of social security and worker comp.what u want to have a attorney just to get health care too?

bo stinks and so do his bigger goverment ideas.we need to vote all these jokers out.

Also,all countries who have universal healhcare,do not see it as “why should i pay for someone,who does not work” in those countries,people stick together AS ONE NATION and help eacother out…we are one pathetic selfish “community” the worst part is….we are the only nation who keeps talking about God and Jesus and even have the word God on the dollar bill…but still,compared to the real christian nations : germany,italy,spain,france…they do the christian thing – being one united nation!!!

Wow, how judgmental my friend. I’m an economics major at stanford and so I like to think that my ideas aren’t “dumb and uneducated.” BTW, “civilist nation” oh yeah that sounds real educated.Europe, basically what you are refering to as the “CIVILIST Nations” have extremely slow rates of growth, resulting in high levels of xenophopia-lack of jobs makes people jealous of hard working immigrants who have jobs. America is great because we are grown ups who don’t depend on govt to take care of us.

Jesus never said spoil your population and never let them grow up and take responsibility for their selves. The countries you talk about all suffer from lackluster economic growth. In American 80% of the millionaires are self made. Not so in those countries- there you are either born rich or dependent on the government. I love that America my parents may have been poor but I still be anything I want to be. Higher taxes make it impossible for the poor to become rich-it kills upward mobility.

Zigzag..In the UK, universal healthcare is seen as a basic human right. We call it the National Health Service. It is for the whole Nation. No-one is left out but if you want to go private you can…there is nothing “socialist” about this. Margaret Thatcher was a massive supporter of the NHS. In the UK what you earn is irrelevant…if you are a citizen then you get the treatment. The NHS employs some of the worlds leading doctors..and is a wonderful service. Does it cost a lot of money? You bet. Is it worth it? Absolutely. Would a UK government shut it down? Never because it would be political suicide.
