Keith Olbermann Reads The Statement Released By The Wall Street Protesters – 2011-10-05 Transcript: nycga.cc The Official Declaration of the Occupation of Wall Street read by Keith Olbermann 10-05 2011 As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies. As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known. They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage. They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses. They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the …

@jackolantern765 amazing!
Statement of Unity:
We are creating a global, sustainable community that values the health of the Earth and its inhabitants over corporate profits.
We are a diverse group of non-violent people and we find strength in that diversity. No one person or group speaks for all of us as a whole. We wish to see an end to the corruption of both corporations and government.
We will persist until the voices of the people overcome the corrupting influence of money.
@cyncyng123 I agree. Wish I could give you thumbs up but can’t on this video.
1:31 great that they mentioned animal rights in it, with so much talk of human rights its by far-time people start taking into consideration, the rights of animals too, Speciesism is wrong and humans treatment of animals is just like these corporations treatment of middlemen & women, in fact the inequality between humans & animals is even larger.
Even if you draw lines of rights by intelligence, the inequality is still way bigger than the difference in intelligence hence its inconsistent.
I promise, as a citizen of this country, as a citizen of this world, that my purpose in life will be one that will contribute to ultimate good and just power. I am disbelief that within a ten mile radius of my university there is human sex trafficking going on, extreme poverty, dehumanization, victimization. I bow to change this world and the countries I have lived in for as long as I roam this earth.
I hope that from watching this along with other current events we become exposed to real truths and act upon them. It is our responsibility , change must take place and now is the time…
Good list of complaints but what solutions would mollify the protesters? Until campaign contributions are limited to individuals and not lobbyists and corporations, no change will come from Congress.
6293 v. 199! I’m so happy to see that so many can take in evaluate the unbiased information presented here. Those without brains gettin fewer and fewer
Absolutely EVERYTHING covered in this statement was true beyond belief. I was amazed they even covered the horrific animal experiments that the governments cover up. This really makes me want to do something right this second.
Don’t lose sight!
@sonykroket Agreed!
I don’t know, the music was cool with the video until the guy started singing – while Olberman was talking. I just found that distracting. Would have been better with just the music…
This concerns the whole planet, not just the US
wow,thats powerful:even more so with the Daft Punk song in the background
Revolution in America!!* Tear down the walls of economic injustice* stand against the US war machine* demand the end of the Federal Reserve Corporation who holds us hostage for life* fight the systematic reduction of our civil and human rights!* Revolution now!!!* Fight the corruption of the American Elite on Wall Street!!! *Fight the corrupt criminals in Washington!!!!! *Stand for liberty and justice!!!*
@0:44,
They usually do by not forcing one to buy their products or services. There are de facto exceptions such as universities where not purchasing services bans you from many business ventures and high paying jobs, but that is not the norm, nor is it the corporations that are targeted by the protesters. Anyone can still succeed on Wall St. if they’re good investors.
@jackolantern765 Awesome!
Go Keith, go!!
@jackolantern765 lmao WUTTTT thats shit was perfect
@jackolantern765 I did it too.
The only question is not will change occur, but will it be voluntary or involuntary? The world based on paper money and gasoline will not survive forever… Do the elite even realize that their days are numbered. As Agent Smith would say “It is inevitable Mr.Anderson”
post this on your facebook pages people
