Health care shares are higher at mid-day thanks to an earnings beat by one of the sector’s big names. In health care news, Pfizer (PFE) shares are higher after the company reported second quarter revenues of $17.3 billion, better than the analyst mean of $16.6 bln on Thomson Reuters. EPS was $0.62, vs. expectations of $0.52 per share. Meanwhile, institutional shareholders for Sanofi-Aventis (SNY) said the drug maker should aim to buy Genzyme (GENZ) for around $19 billion, Reuters reported.
