“better dead then red”?

Isn’t that the Republcian argument now? That somehow, Socialized medicine is a bad thing, for no other reason then the fact that it’s socialized?
(Also, please ignore the fact that no bill right now has socialized medicine in it. Facts are irrelevant to a republican)

So, we shouldn’t save thousands and thousands of lives a year, because that would mean we’re commies, and being a commie is obviously a fate worse than death?

  • iamct01:

It is their fault they did not have health insurance. Romney 2012.

  • Kool Aid for all:

That’s right. Your “facts” are wrong by the way.

  • Bill G IV:

You do realize that people die in countries with socialized medicine don’t you?

  • disturbed1:

I think those 45,000 you claim will die, should get a job instead of asking for handouts. Its called personal responsibility.

  • robot_hooker5:

No one in this country dies because they cannot receive medical care. That’s just a silly lie, and anyone with common sense knows it. Facts are obviously irrelevant to liberals.

  • Joe the unemployed plumber:

not to mention all those who pay for insurance but end up getting screwed by the companies that have free reign to do whatever they want. No all this means nothing to the conservatives until it happens to them and then they become Democrats and get to be laughed at called bleeding hearts by people who think their is nothing wrong with the system.

  • rrm38:

45,000 uninsured Americans dying <> 45,000 Americans dying because of no health care. A certain number would have died with or without health insurance or health care treatment. Sure, the cost issue needs bo be addressed but bloated statistics don’t impress me.

  • Corrine:

So because people die, we must ask the government to intervene?

How about a little forethought as you refuse to look before you leap.

    How about insurance reform?

What about the number of people who will die while having the government, who we know to be anything less than competent, has final say about YOUR body.

  • trippsmith485:

I dont know why you guys cant get it thru your thick skulls that the healthcare bill wasnt gonna reform healthcare in any way, shape or form

  • pachl@sbcglobal.net:

You know, Libbys think so simplistically it makes me want to vomit.

I love it when they throw out these unsubstantiated numbers (45,000 die…. oh gosh, the humanity!) It reminds me of how they cite Cuba as some sort of bastion of great health care citing “statistics” that they have a lower infant mortality rate than the U.S. (totally untrue; quite the opposite, but Libbys just regurgitate what the mass media feeds them)

I would love to see the look of shock on your face about five years from now when you finally realize that the 2100+ page Obama Care piece of cr@p has lots and lots of nasty surprises in it, and is most certainly not some all you can eat buffet of medical wonders. It will be rationed, just as it is in every other country.

Rather than continue to berate you, I suggest you buy Glenn Beck’s book “Arguing With Idiots”, or if you’re cheap, just go to the bookstore and read the chapter on health care. It is an education all Libbys sorely need.

    better ignorant than red

    better poor than red

    better dead than red

yep… those commies in Israel and Japan sure due have misable lives with their public health care and universities…

  • Ugly:

That’s the republican ideology. Follow what Reagan did even if it leads you off the cliff.

  • PennyLeeD2:

    Dead people don’t think.

  • Chevalier:

Socialized medicine is a bad thing. The government will only screw it up as they have done with other social programs such as Social Security and Medicare. So yes socialized medicine would be terrible.

And apparently facts mean nothing to you if you are going to claim that the health care bill has no socialized medicine in it when the whole idea is about socializing medicine.

And if you liberals are so concerned with saving lives then what about Cap and trade? Since it will make the cost of heating and cooling go up. Many elderly people die every year because they cannot afford to heat or cool their homes Cap and trade will only increase that number.

What about how liberals support abortion? That costs far more human lives than does lack of health care.

No you liberals are not as concerned with human you claim it is merely the agenda you are worried about I think.

But nice try on the shaming tactics sadly for you most of us can see right through it now.

Why for so many elite was being a commie so bad when the “godless” Russian Empire was doing it but it is OK under the banner of Liberation Theology? Different people running the show?

  • M to the R still in your face:

That’s a horrifying number, unparalelled in the developed world. I don’t suppose those nazis can stop filling their greedy faces to even notice, as their self satisfied answers clearly demonstrate. The intrests of their fellow countryman, have no bearing on them whatsoever. I can see barely any difference between the rise of the Christian right-wing and the rise of Hitler

  • Rob:

Scanned obituaries. No mention of death due to not affording health care

  • water_skipper:

Possibly. Not everyone wants to live as long as possible regardless of the consequences.

  • Fly in the Ointment:

Yes that is called Compassionate Conservatism. The Republican party and Conservatives are once again on the wrong side of the issue. As usual they use their foolish ideology to block or hinder advancement. The best things America has done have been fought against by them. They put ideology above their fellow citizens and country all for the sake of some Neo-Con fantasy world that they dream America will become.
