I feel that in the short statements in this clip, Mr Sullivan is being deceptive by stating half truths about what is in this bill. It incites the people to outrage which encourages bickering rather than true dialog. That being said, I am open to hear truthful debate. I think it benefits everyone of us to investigate any statement rather than take someone at their word, even if they are of the same political view.

Thanks Rep. Sullivan for standing against this socialist policy.

As an American who choses not to carry health insurance, I don’t want to be forced to buy it or to pay a fine to cover someone else’s.

  • KWWalenciak:

While I don’t disagree that something needs to be done….but there are options for those who “can’t afford” health insurance. County hospitals, state funded insurance for those who are indingent, the health department, there are plenty of options for people who can’t afford it. Raising taxes on small businesses, already struggling to stay in business, will do nothing but raise unemployment. (Which is the highest since ’83!, and the highest EVER in some states)

  • christinalicona:

We need healthcare reform! It’s imperative that all political parties work together and get SOMETHING thru that will help the millions who cannot afford to go to the doctor when they are sick. Mr Sullivan talks about the taxes that will be put onto the backs of the small businesses, but what about the $ lost when workers for those small businesses have poor health due to lack of care. It is the responsibility of a government to protect it’s citizens, even where healthcare is concerned.

I love this… Spend a lot of money on war (death = good!!! Spend a lot of money on healthcare (life) = bad. I thought this guy was a conservative? No wait – he’s a politician. If he lived in a liberal state, he would be pandering to them, not to conservatives.

Please John post the HR bill in Bartlesville.

  • 11thDelaware:

Thanks John for prepare this video. I really help us understand your position regarding this issue and the times this country is going through. I believe its a good idea to place copies of this HR bill into local Tulsa County library, but John what about the Washington County Library in Bartlesville?

  • KWWalenciak:

By the way, right now about 42 people pay in to SS for every 1 person receiving benefits. If this plan goes into effect (lets pray that it doesn’t) then more people will be utilizing the benefits than those paying in…(children, unemployed, disabled, and so on) How does it get paid for? Just print more money? Noone can answer that! How can you believe in a bill that is set up for failure before it ever gets to the house?

  • KWWalenciak:

I’m an insurance broker who deals with medicare every day. That has nothing to do with this plan. Nor does it have anything to do with you reading and understanding this bill! I have been paying in for just as long and will never see the benefits, but I don’t complain about paying. I do, however, complain when my source of income is being threatened by something that will destroy our healthcare system!!

KWW- You dont know me. I paid into SSDI over 30 years, both for myself and my employees. You want to criticize me for using insurance I paid for? You should get a job in the health
insurance industry. Medicare was my ONLY alternative, I had kids to take care and could not buy coverage at any cost.Talk about uneducated, you obviously know little about medicare. Most conservatives think it is bad becuase it loses money. Of course it does, it only insures the sick.

  • MistressGlo:

Thank you Congressman Sullivan for your work to stand for the truth and for your efforts to keep this bill from passing.

  • KWWalenciak:

I doubt seriously that you have read the bill. I doubt seriously you COULD read the bill. If you had then you wouldn’t make rediculous comments like this. Sure, you can elect to refuse the government option, but you will still pay for it. Why doesn’t that bother you? Because you don’t pay for it anyway. Hard working taxpayers are paying for your healthcare…and probaby your income. You are welcome to have your opinion, you should make an educated one.

  • 6271957:

The Republicans have had numerous chances to do something about health care, and choose to do nothing. I read the bill, people do have to be insured but they do not have to buy government insurance, they can go through thte private market if they so choose. People like me, who HAD to go on medicare because no insurance company would touch my condition, need some kind of option.

  • gassmasher:

Thanks for your hard work. We are watching, and need you to continue to look out for the interests of the hard working people of Oklahoma and the next generation of Americans.

America needs more honest hard working politicians like you.

  • sroemerm:

Congressman Sullivan, Thank you so much for allowing us to take a look at this bill!

  • SurvivingNWO:

I appreciate your efforts to communicate with us John. Thank you for doing all you can to make sure that bill doesn’t pass – that we don’t become more of a socialist country than we already are. Less, WAY less, government!
