Stephen Shortell, dean of Berkeley’s School of Public Health, has co-authored a new report, for the non-profit Brookings Institution, on ways to control health care costs while improving patient care in light of the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The health reform bill was signed into law in March 2010.
